Lidzbark Warmiński - a town in Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, the seat of Lidzbark Warmiński County and rural commune Lidzbark Warmiński.
From 1350 to the 19th century Lidzbark Warmiński was the capital of Warmia and formerly its largest city. The city was the centre of faith and culture in the Republic of both Nations, which is why it was often called the Pearl of Warmia. For a long time it was under the rule of the bishops of Warmia. It was also a significant economic centre giving way only to Braniewo in Warmia. In the town there is a castle of Warmia bishops, which is considered to be of great artistic and historical value on a world scale, a historical monument, formerly classified as class "0" monuments. (according to the outdated classification of monuments since 1973).
In the city there is the Polmlek dairy plant, the main headquarters of the Warmia dairy group. The 9th Recognizing Regiment of Warmia is located here and has its garrison.
Every year in Lidzbark Warmiński at the turn of August and September Lidzbark Evenings of Humour and Satire take place. In November the Lidzbark Cabaret clashes (eLeSKi) start, they take place every 3 months until May. Lidzbark Warmiński is a town which has been developing faster and faster in recent years. The multitude of monuments and cultural and sporting events of European range attracts more and more tourists to the city.
